Fawazeer (فوازير) is a free Arabic riddles mobile game for iOS and Android. The app ships 2,500+ riddles across 11 themed packs, with three play modes: solo daily riddles, Majlis (multiplayer with friends joining from a browser), and Duel (ranked 1v1). Interface in Arabic, English, and French; content always in Arabic.
A fazoura (فزّورة) is the singular form of fawazeer — a short Arabic riddle or wordplay puzzle with a hidden answer. The tradition spans centuries, with classic fawazeer shared in family gatherings, the storytelling majlis, and Ramadan evening sessions across the Arab world.
Majlis mode opens a multiplayer room with a 4-digit code. Up to 8 friends join from any phone browser at fawazeer.app/m/CODE — no installation, no signup, no account. The host plays from the app; guests play from the web. Rounds run five riddles with live leaderboards and on-screen reactions.
Duel mode is 1v1 ranked play over five riddles. Players are matched on an ELO ladder; winning grants ladder points and a rematch share link. Friends without the app play the duel in their browser at fawazeer.app/i/TOKEN. The server is authoritative on scoring — the client never decides correctness.
The 2,500+ riddle catalog is organized into 11 themed packs: general riddles, proverbs, animals, food, science, history, geography, sports, world cultures, entertainment, and technology. Each pack is fully playable offline. A separate "passport" setting (Gulf, Levant, Egypt, Maghreb, Pan-Arab MSA, Francophone, Global English, Universal) selects the regional dialect flavor.
A passport is your content region — independent of the interface language. The eight passports (Gulf, Levant, Egypt & Sudan, Maghreb, Pan-Arab in MSA, Francophone, Global English, Universal) flavor the riddle catalog with regional dialect, idioms, and references. You can run a French interface with Moroccan content, or an Arabic interface with Gulf content.
